The important thing to remember about the
new theory test is that it is in TWO parts and that both parts must be
passed at the same sitting. The new part of
the test is known as the “Hazard Perception Test”. It is not possible to
pass the written test but fail the hazard
perception test nor vice versa.
It is very important therefore that your
trainer or instructor gives you some tuition regarding “Hazards”, what they are
and how to deal with them safely.
The Driving Standards Agency have produced a
short video priced at £12:99 (correct as a 10-11-2002) which could be used in
conjunction with your practical training. “Recent
research has shown that the hazard perception skills of pupils who
have received this type of training improve
significantly”. (Robert
CUMMINS Chief Driving Examiner)
